The Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is a test performend by a physical therapist to determine an injured worker's functional status. It usually is performed in two contiguous half day sessions. MCO uses the WorkWell system, previously known as the Isernhagen System. The Workwell System is the most widely used FCE test in the world and is used at the Mayo Clinic and other great medical centers. Objective test results (such as maximal lift) are fed into a large national database. A report is generated that shows how a typical worker with those test results would be able to perform in a forty hour week setting. The beauty of the system is its standardization. A worker in Florida should have the same functional capacity as a worker in California with the same test results.
