Lymphedema is the existence of uncontrolled swelling in an extremity and can be the result of trauma, mastectomy, infection, vericose veins, heart problems, or primary lymphatic insufficiency. The swelling can have a huge impact on mobility and can lead to infection or even amputation. MCO has therapists with specialized training in the management of lymphedema.
