Occupational Therapists specialize in the treatment of upper extremity inuries & disorders such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, fractures, tennis elbow syndrome, & tendon lacerations. Hand therapists utilize education, modalties (paraffin bath, fluidotherapy), & custom splinting. They focus on the individual needs of each patient, recognizing that the patient is the most important piece of the rehabilitation puzzle.
Certified Hand therapists are quite rare and MCO has two!!!
Nicki Eisfelder MS, OTR/L, CHT attended Illinois Wesleyan University and graduated with a BA Natural Science. She completed a masters in occupational therapy at Washington University in 1997, and became a certified hand therapist in 2003. She has worked with hand surgeons in Chicago, Denver, & Minneapolis.
Mary Ann Meismer OTR L,CHT joined MCO in 2001. She is a certified hand therapist and a graduate of Mount Mary College, School of Occupational Therapy, Milwaukee Wisconsin. She has three children and and helps run a farm with her husband. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, walking, and skiing.
Deb Guthoff COTA/L joined MCO in 2004. She graduated from Purdue Universityand then later from ICC after a career change. She specializes in hand therapy. Deb is an avid Cubs fan and a Boilermaker!! She is an animal lover and spends alot of free time with her 2 dogs.
