Chronic Pain Support Group

Chronic Pain

At McLean County Orthopedics, we know that pain is no joke, and chronic pain can be a living nightmare. Chronic pain can be debilitating and sometimes, there isn’t always an answer or a cure. Sandy Fader, MSN, APN, FNP-BC knows all-too-well how chronic pain can severely affect someone’s life. She’s been working alongside Dr. Naour and his pain management team at MCO since 2014, and she’s seen the results of chronic pain in her patients.

Although there isn’t always a medical cure or procedure that can be done to help alleviate her patients, Sandy still felt there was something that could help. Often times, patients with chronic pain aren’t taken seriously, and they suffer from more than just pain. They start to feel isolated and helpless, and they exhaust all treatment options. Sandy’s answer to this pain is a Chronic Pain Support Group. Support groups can help ease the emotional pain for those who find themselves in the same situation.

The Chronic Pain Support Group is an open group which meets on the second Thursday every month at 5:45 PM in the physical therapy conference room at MCO – refreshments provided. This group is not exclusive to those with chronic pain as it can affect so many more than just the individuals. The group is open to friends and family members of those suffering from chronic pain. The mission of this support group is to offer information, education, and emotional support to those with chronic pain. The goal is to compile a resource center using the information and education shared during the meetings. Below is a list of additional resources as well as the group’s schedule.
