PRN MRI Technician - Part Time


  • Performs MRI procedures in accordance with protocols. Selects and modifies appropriate protocol required for quality imaging.
  • Maintains proper quality control procedures.
  • Prints and reviews imaging orders for patients on the schedule to ensure proper imaging is completed. Reviews and verifies safety screening to ensure patients are safe for entry into MRI equipment.
  • Administers intravenous contrast, when required.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements related to MRI exams and equipment.
  • Sends images to reading radiologist following completion.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with patients, medical staff and the public.


  • Ability to properly position patients to provide quality imaging.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Complete understanding of MRI applications.
  • Ability to operate equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage interactions with difficult people and support patients through their imaging procedure.
  • Excellent telephone skills.
  • Knowledge of current medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of imaging techniques to perform routine tests.
  • Knowledge of imaging equipment and testing to perform quality control checks and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
  • Ability to multi task.
  • Hearing to perform job duties in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients.
  • Eyesight correctable to 20/20 in order operate equipment, administer contrast and ensure quality images.
  • Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires frequent bending, reaching and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting regularly.
  • Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for operation and repair of equipment.
  • Requires exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Behaviors & Abilities Required

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Completion of an accredited Radiology Program required.
  • Current National registration with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists. (AART)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum of 1 year MRI experience
  • Experience with Hitachi MRI equipment is preferred
