Rick Bauersfeld

Rick Bauersfeld, PT

Physical Therapist | Director of Therapy


Rick attended Oregon College of Education from 1975 – 1978. He received his PT degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1980. Rick and his wife Jennifer together started the physical therapy clinic with Mclean County Orthopedics in 1981. He has been the Director of Physical Therapy at Mclean County Orthopedics from 1981 to present. He loves spending time with his family, all sports, and serving and helping others here and abroad.

Krista Sheppard

 

Krista Sheppard, MPT, DPT

Physical Therapist | Facilities Manager


Krista earned her BA from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1994, an MPT from Northwestern University in 1997, and a DPT with an emphasis in manual therapy and orthopedics from St. Augustine University in 2012. She is a member of APTA, IPTA, and AAOMPT. Krista is Facilities Manager at McLean County Orthopedics. She enjoys SCUBA and reading.


Abby Curtis

 

Abby Curtis, PT, CLT

Physical Therapist


Abby attended Augustana College for her undergraduate degree and graduated with her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis in 2002. She is a certified lymphedema therapist and is trained to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations through the WorkWell Systems. Her interests include spending time with her husband, two young children, and teenage stepchildren. She enjoys sports and outdoor activities.

Alissa Recker, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist


Alissa joined McLean County Orthopedics in January 2017. Alissa received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2015 and completed her DPT in December 2016 at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA. She is a member of APTA and certified FMS and SMFA. Alissa grew up in a small town outside of Peoria, IL. Outside of work, she enjoys boating, playing basketball, and spending time with friends and family.

Bryan Jasker, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist


Bryan Jasker joined McLean County Orthopedics in December 2016. He is certified in ASTYM, Functional Movement Systems, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, and Y-Balance testing. He currently provides leadership for our Sports Medicine programming. He is a member of APTA and IPTA. He grew up in Hanover Park, IL and attended Streamwood High School. He received a full scholarship from Eastern Illinois University to play football. Bryan attended Northwestern University, Chicago, where he received his Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Courtney Yamada, PT, DPT, OCS

Physical Therapist


Courtney grew up in Springfield, IL and received a BA in Natural Sciences from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1997. She earned a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy (1999) and Doctorate in Physical Therapy Degree (2012) from Des Moines University. She is designated as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. She is certified in ASTYM, FMS and SFMA. Courtney worked at MCO from 2002-2015, then took time off to teach in the Heartland Community College Physical Therapist Assistant program for 2 years. She returned to MCO in June 2017. She enjoys reading, exercising, and watching her two sons play sports.

Diane Swanson

 

Diane Swanson, PTA

Physical Therapist Assistant


Diane has worked at MCO since 1998. She attended PTA school at SIU and graduated in 1981. She is certified in ASTYM and enjoys working with patients of all ages. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to the beach and spending time with family.

Donna Noonan

Physical Therapist Assistant


Donna joined MCO in 2002 after working ten years prior to that in various settings. She graduated from the Illinois Central College PTA program in 1992. She loves the orthopedic setting and geriatric patients. She is married and has two children.

Ed received his Physical Therapy degree from Bradley University in 1996. He is certified to perform dry needling. He enjoys spending time with his children, outdoor activities, and listening to music.

Jim Modglin

Physical Therapist Assistant


Jim attended Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, IL to earn his Associates Degree in the Physical Therapy Assistant program. He joined MCO in 2004. He is certified in ASTYM therapy and enjoys treating athletes of all ages. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, traveling and cooking.

Jonathon Crowley, PT, MTC

Physical Therapist


Jon earned his Masters Degree in Physical Therapy in 2012 from Northern Illinois University. He practiced autonomously for the first four years of his career studying many manual therapy techniques and gaining experience as an independent practitioner. He received his manual therapy certification through the University of St. Augustine in 2016 and is also certified in dry needling. His work passions include evaluation and treatment of the spine as well as assessing athletes and runners. Jon enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors and competing in ultra marathons.

Kayla received her Associates Degree in Applied Sciences and Physical Therapist Assistant Certification May of 2011 from Illinois Central College, Peoria. She has been a part of McLean County Orthopedics since 2013. Her favorite part about being a Physical Therapist Assistant is educating patients to allow for greater understanding of their condition. Some of her hobbies include: running, crocheting and reading.

Michelle received her Associates Degree in Applied Sciences and Physical Therapist Assistant Certification May of 2009 from Illinois Central College, Peoria. She started working for Mclean County Orthopedics June 2015. Her favorite part about being a Physical Therapist Assistant is helping people to attain or regain the ability to walk and carry out daily life. Some of her hobbies include hiking, camping, and gardening.

Nicole Welsh, PTA

Physical Therapist Assistant


Nicole graduated from Illinois Central College with an Associate’s Degree in the Physical Therapist Assistant program in May 2017. She joined McLean County Orthopedics just after her graduation in June 2017. Nicole grew up in Washington, Illinois and played basketball, softball, and cheerleading throughout high school. Nicole found the interest of physical therapy when she was 13 years old. She was injured playing basketball and tore her ACL and had to attend physical therapy for 6 months, and that was when she found the love for physical therapy. She enjoys spending time with her family, dogs, and boyfriend; along with hiking, traveling, and crafting.

Samantha started working at Mclean County Orthopedics in August of 2017. She graduated from the first class of the Physical Therapist Assistant Program from Heartland Community College in May of 2017. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and being outdoors with her husband. Her favorite part of being a PTA is helping people get back to living the life they want to live.

Sarah graduated from Bradley University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009 and joined McLean County Orthopedics at that time. She is ASTYM certified and a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Her interests include raising three children, horseback riding, reading, and scrapbooking.

Sarah joined McLean County Orthopedics in 2016 and has specialized in the aquatic program. Sarah attended Kankakee Community College in Kankakee, IL to earn her Associates in Applied Science in the Physical Therapist Assistant program in 2000. She has worked in outpatient orthopedic, sports medicine, work injury, and skilled nursing settings.

Stormie Davis, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist


Stormie Davis graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Bradley University in 2009. She then went on to graduate school and graduated from the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Bradley University in 2012. Stormie has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2009 and has an interest in Orthopedic Physical Therapy and Manual Therapy techniques. She is FMS and SFMA certified. Outside of physical therapy, her interests include cooking, baking, and being outdoors.

Tessa graduated from Illinois Central College with an Associates Degree in the Physical Therapist Assistant program in May 2014. She joined McLean County Orthopedics just after her graduation. She enjoys staying active at the gym, being outdoors with her dog and husband, and watching the St. Louis Blues and St.Louis Cardinals.
